Nobody knows sliding better then baseball players, just ask Rex Ryan

The New York Jets have been concerned about rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez and his reluctance to slide. Well on Monday night, head coach Rex Ryan thought up a plan.

This morning Rex Ryan called New York Yankees team president Randy Levine and asked him if he could send someone to Jets practice to help teach his prized quarterback how to slide on his right leg. Joe Girardi, the manager of the World Series Champion New York Yankees was available and willing to help.

Sanchez had been reluctant to slide despite constant talks from the organization. During last weeks game against the Carolina Panthers, Sanchez suffered an injury to his left knee after taking a hit from a defender. The QB already wears a brace on his left knee due to an injury he suffered in college.

Ryan said that Girardi was a big help and Sanchez has already become much more comfortable sliding on his right leg. Sanchez will be the starting quarterback when the Jets take on the Buffalo Bills Thursday night in Toronto, Canada.
