Donnie Baseball managing? Madoff & The Mets, Steve Phillips suspended from ESPN, Fat Boy Eddy Curry and Rutgers news...

Its an off day for the Yankees today as they prepare for tomrrow's Game 5. Take a look at some links to stories that have been reported lately:

- Former Yankees star and current Dodgers hitting coach Don Mattingly is interviewing for some managing jobs.

- The Daily News is reporting the Mets may have made money in Madoff scheme and may have to pay it back.

- New York Knicks center Eddy Curry likely wont be suiting up for the team any time soon, but Nate Robinson could be auditioning for a starting spot.

- Take a look at why the Rutgers defensive line has high hopes for the future. Its already starting.

- Speaking of Rutgers, one of the teams fan sites, State of Rutgers, is hosting a live chat tonight at 8pm with Rutgers beat writer Aditi Kinkhabwala. She has great knowledge of Rutgers athletics and has worked for Sports Illustrated as well.

- Former Mets GM Steve Phillips has been suspended by ESPN after admitting to an affair with a fellow ESPN employee.

I think it's a good thing that Donnie is going to get some consideration for a managerial position in MLB. He had a great mentor in Torre, which I would still rather trust with my team than Girardi. Eddy Curry hasn't done squat since he got into the NBA. That's all I'll say about that. The Mets need to do some serious shuffling in their front office. They have too much talent to play the way they play. They need to stabilize a starting rotation behind Santana. I'm not so sure that Jerry Emanuel is the right fit fot that club.
